Is Snoqualmie Falls Lodge® Oatmeal steel cut oatmeal?
Our oats are not steel cut. Steel cut oats and rolled oatmeal are made from the whole oat groat, and both provide the heart healthy benefits from soluble fiber in oats. The difference is how the groat is cut. For steel cut oats, the oat groat is coarsely cut into two or three pieces. For Snoqualmie Falls Oatmeal, the oat groat is sliced thickly and rolled flat. The result is a firm textured oatmeal that is never mushy.
Snoqualmie Falls Lodge® Oatmeal tastes better than regular oatmeal. Are there any additives to change the flavor?
Our oatmeal is 100% rolled oats. The robust flavor comes from a European roasting technique giving it a distinctive nutty taste.
I would like to add ingredients to my oatmeal. What is the correct amount?
The possibilities are endless for adding fun ingredients to your oatmeal. For each serving, try adding 2 – 4 tablespoons each or combination of raisins/dried fruit, seeds/nuts, toasted coconut, berries and granola. Top with milk or cream and brown sugar to taste.
What is the shelf life of Snoqualmie Falls Lodge® mixes and how should I store them?
The key is proper storage. We recommend storing flour mixes and cereal in a cool (70°F or below), dry environment. It is best to use the oatmeal within a 12 month period. It is best to use the pancake mixes within a 24 month period. The mixes do not contain any perishable ingredients.
