Can I double the batch of Ghirardelli Brownies?

For Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownies, Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownies and Ghirardelli Chocolate Supreme Brownies, simply double the batch using two boxes of mix and place batter in a 13x9x2-inch pan. Bake at 325°F 45-50 minutes.

For Ghirardelli Walnut Brownies and Ghirardelli Caramel Brownies, simply double the batch using two boxes of mix and place batter in a 13x9x2-inch pan. Bake at 325°F 42-47 minutes.

Can I make a single batch of Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate or Double Chocolate Brownies in a 13x9x2-inch pan?
Yes! Brownies will be thinner compared to brownies prepared in an 8x8-inch pan. Prepare batter as package directs. Bake at 325F 20-25 minutes.

Do you have preparation instructions for making a full sheet pan or a half sheet pan of Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate or Double Chocolate Brownies?

DIRECTIONS FOR FULL SHEET (24X16-inch) PAN
6 pouches Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate or Double Chocolate Brownie Mix
    2 cups water
    2 cups vegetable oil
    6 eggs

Blend all ingredients together in large mixer bowl. Mix on low speed for 30 seconds. Scrape bowl and paddle. Continue mixing 30 seconds on low speed. Spread batter evenly into lightly greased 24x16x1-inch sheet pan. Bake at 325F 40-45 minutes.

DIRECTIONS FOR HALF SHEET (16X12-inch) PAN
3 pouches Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate or Double Chocolate Brownie Mix
    1 cup water
    1 cup vegetable oil
    3 eggs

Blend all ingredients together in large mixer bowl. Mix on low speed for 30 seconds. Scrape bowl and paddle. Continue mixing 30 seconds on low speed. Spread evenly in a lightly greased 16x12-inch pan. Bake at 325F 40-45 minutes.

How can I tell if the brownies are done?
Stick to the set time and temperature for baking. It is important not to overbake the brownies or they will become hard. As the brownies cool, they will continue to cook. Because our brownies are so thick and moist, using the toothpick method to check doneness will not give you an accurate indication.

What is the best way to store Ghirardelli Brownies and Cookies?
Cool the product completely after baking and store in an airtight container in the freezer or at room temperature. Do not store in the refrigerator because this will dry out the product. To serve frozen bakery products, allow products to thaw at room temperature, then warm, if desired.

    Can I freeze the brownies?
Yes, baked brownies will freeze nicely for up to 3 months in a sealed, airtight container. Allow four hours to thaw at room temperature.

Can I add other ingredients to the Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate or Double Chocolate Brownies?
Adding approximately 1/2 cup dry ingredients such as nuts or flavored chips is fun and adds variety in flavor and texture. For additional ideas, click on Recipe Central.

What is the shelf life of your Ghirardelli Brownie, Cookie and Muffin Mixes and how should I store them?

The key is proper storage. We recommend storing flour mixes in a cool (70ºF or below), dry environment. It is best to use Ghirardelli Caramel Turtle Mix, Ghirardelli Chocolate Supreme Brownie Mix and Ultimate Fudge Brownie Mix within a 12-month period. It is best to use all other Ghirardelli Brownie, Cookie and Muffin Mixes within an 18-month period. The brownie, cookie and muffin mixes do not contain any perishable ingredients.
